Atrial Fibrillation journey

You will need a referral from your GP to attend the Atrial Fibrillation Institute.

Your Cardiologist or Electrophysiologist is a key part of your ongoing management team. We'll take time to understand your test results, explain the condition, and develop a plan for your treatment.

If you need additional testing, the AFib Institute provides access to a full range of cardiac diagnostic testing through our Queensland Cardiovascular Group sites.

Our specialists will take the time to discuss your treatment options with you, and answer your questions. They will discuss your medication and procedure options, as well as what you can do yourself to improve your symptoms.

Your specialist will let you know when it's important to go to the hospital for your Atrial Fibrillation.
Our team provide 24-hour on-call Electrophysiologists for heart rhythm conditions for GPs and across multiple private hospitals in South East Queensland.

Atrial Fibrillation is a condition that is with you for life, and that changes over time.
You will have follow up from the Institute, working with your GP in supporting your care.
